15th Annual International Radon Symposium

September 25 to 28, 2005 AccuStar’s President Carolyn Allen participated
in the 15th Annual International Radon Symposium at the Shelter
Pointe Hotel and Marina in San Diego, California. The event, presented
by the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists
(AARST), was held in cooperation with the 15th National Radon Meeting
sponsored by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors
(CRCPD).
Speakers at the event included Elizabeth Cotsworth, Director of EPA’s Office of Radiation and Indoor Air; Tom Kelly, EPA’s Director of Indoor Environments Division; and many distinguished technical experts, educators, researchers and scientists.
Carolyn, an AARST Board member, spoke at the AARST Annual Meeting and Luncheon. She presented AARST Inner Circle Awards “in grateful recognition of your devotion of time and effort toward the advancement of AARST’s programs and goals” to two recipients, William Brodhead and Trudy Smith. Trudy, a long-time AARST member and former Board member, teaches radon training courses co-sponsored by AccuStar Labs.
 On the second night of the conference, AccuStar and RadonAway co-hosted a Customer Appreciation Party on the Shelter Pointe’s Marina View Terrace. About 60 invited guests enjoyed the superb Southern California weather and the spectacular setting along with a bountiful buffet supper.
In the Symposium exhibit hall, AccuStar unveiled two new display banners promoting testing for radon in both air and well water.
